Dana Marcinkowski-Desmond (She/Her)
Bereaved Parent / Parenting After Loss; New Baby Support Group Facilitator
1) Describe briefly how you got involved with Empty Arms.
My twins, Aurora and Orion, were born at 23 weeks and passed away a few hours after birth. I felt alone and disconnected from everyone I knew, and despite not being a "support group person"(or a group person at all), bravely logged on to my first Empty Arms meeting, and felt seen and held and supported in a way I had never imagined.
2) What makes you most proud of the work we do/What do you like most about Empty Arms?
I love how welcoming and nonjudgmental the organization is, and how it helps our community members find their way as bereaved parents - no matter what that parenthood looks like.
3) Share a passion in your life and/or work outside of EABS.
I love hiking the White Mountains, baking cozy treats, and destroying my husband in Scrabble.
Dana is located in Wakefield, MA
