Jillian Hannon (she/her)
Bereaved Parent / Peer Companion and Doula Program Coordinator
1) Describe briefly how you got involved with Empty Arms.
After my own family building journey through recurrent pregnancy loss and IVF, I knew something needed to change for others struggling on their journey. I started volunteering in the infertility and pregnancy loss community, which led me to Empty Arms. I’m now honored to serve as the Companion and Doula Program Coordinator, combining my background as a registered nurse and full spectrum doula with my lived experience.
2) What makes you most proud of the work we do/What do you like most about Empty Arms?
Empty Arms meets families in the moments most people don’t know how to talk about, and makes sure no one has to walk through them alone. I also love that support continues well beyond the time of loss, because grief isn't just a moment. It becomes part of who we are.
3) Share a passion in your life and/or work outside of EABS.
I am a mom to two living boys and three dogs, so life is wonderful and always a bit messy! I run a book club that focuses as much on building community as it does on our pick of the month, and I love checking out local coffee shops.
Jillian is located in Douglas, MA.
