Temitope (Temi) Awosogba (She/Her)
TFMR Support Group Facilitator
1) Describe briefly how you got involved with Empty Arms.
In August 2025, my husband and I lost our first child after my water broke at 17wks. I was lucky enough to see a wonderful Social Worker who provided me with many resources that, frankly, kept me just about sane. One of the resources that she sent was for Empty Arms Bereavement Support. The support groups that I attended through Empty Arms have been instrumental in my continued healing and growth around my grief. I am honored to serve as a facilitator for the bereaved through Empty Arms.
2) What makes you most proud of the work we do/What do you like most about Empty Arms?
Holding space for grief of this magnitude is a privilege. I am proud to be one of many people who have experience baby loss and can hold a space for those who need it. I also appreciate the recognition of a need for somewhat tailored and community-specific spaces. This is somewhat unique to Empty Arms and I think it's wonderful.
3) Share a passion in your life and/or work outside of EABS.
My passions are ever shifting, particularly since the loss of our daughter, which resulted in a cosmic identity crisis. I know that, since early as I can remember, I have loved music (listening to it, singing it, dancing to it, performing it, creating it), reading (especially a good historical fiction or high fantasy novel), and writing. I am also a gynecologic surgeon so I commit my working life to caring for women who are suffering, most commonly with endometriosis, fibroids and other benign gynecological conditions.
